Is PIENO a sustainable product?

Yes. It is estimated that 20% of ripe bananas are discarded before they reach the supermarket, mostly because of their size/shape and short shelf life. This is not the case with green bananas. Green bananas also allow for more crop turns on the land thus enhancing farmers’ earnings.

Does PIENO have a high carb content?

Overall PIENO has 25% less net carbs than conventional wheat pasta, but not all carbs are the same. Carbs are composed of fiber, starches and sugar. PIENO has no sugar and is high in resistant starch, a type of prebiotic fiber that promotes gut health.

Where can I buy PIENO?

Online. At our website (https://naturetoculture.us/product/rotini/)

What do Green bananas taste like?

Green bananas have an earthy, neutral wholesome flavor- ideal for pasta.

What is the difference between a green and yellow banana?

Bananas are harvested green. At this time, they’re packed with resistant starch, minerals and do not contain sugar. When they ripen (turn yellow) they transform the resistant starch to sucrose.

Why should I consume resistant starch?

Historically, people consumed 30-50 grams of resistant starch a day. With the rise of processed foods, however, consumption has fallen to an average of only 5 grams/day. To learn about the benefits of resistant starch, check our benefits section.

What is the difference between a prebiotic and a probiotic?

Probiotics are LIVE bacteria and yeasts (microorganisms) that are imperative for your mental and physical health. Prebiotics are the food for probiotics. They are the nourishment for the good bacteria in your gut. They aid in digestion, and can help in weight loss. One of the most beneficial prebiotics is resistant starch.
